As soon as you enter the town of Saint Centour, the party will be pushed back by an invisible barrier. One of the townsfolk will come in and find that Hanpan was, in fact, the culprit of setting off the barrier. It appears the barrier wards off any animals or monsters that attempt to enter; good thing the Guardian statue is safe inside. The first thing you'll notice about the town, besides the talk of people being abducted, are the several treasure chests and locations that cannot be accessed at this time, but be patient.
Take a left from the inn and Memory Bird and search the three barrels near the stairs for an Agile Apple.
Climb the stairs and proceed to the far-left corner of the town and search the barrel for an easy 1000 Gella. The little blind girl inside the nearby house will give different insights into the characters depending on who you speak to her with.
Take the stairs down near the blind girl's house and into the one there. Talk with the guy here and accept his proposition for you to inspect the Cage Tower that may have something to do with the abductions that have happened lately. He'll hand over a Key Plate item to open the tower for you. Why not? The town is safely protected by the barrier. For a kick, try to read the guy's diary.
Return to the inn at the enter of town and move to the southeast to find the pub. One of the barrels outside has 100 Gella inside of it.
North of the pub you can climb another set of stairs to find an equipment and item shop nearby. Everything is pricey here, but will also be for sale in the next town, so just buy what you can at the moment. When Mystic is used on it during battle, Cecilia's Rune Staff casts Dispel, while the Protect Cape will cast, you guessed it, the magic resistance-raising Protect spell. Next door to the shops is an ARMs meister and a magic guild. You should have five Crest Graphs in your possession to bind. I'm going to be selecting: Analyze (Black: Muse-Geo), Break (Black: Geo-Geo), Spark (Black: Wing-Muse), Vortex (Black: Wing-Wing), and Slow Down (Black: Geo-Fray).
Climb the stairs to the left of the magic guild and into the first house to find a barrel with a Hardy Apple.
Lastly, to the south, inside the house with a cat guarding a stairwell, plunder the Power Apple from the barrel. That's all for Saint Centour, for now. Our next dungeon is the Cage Tower to the northeast. There are two new enemies outside on the world map, but like in the Baskar area, they will appear in the next dungeon, as well.
Enter the Cage Tower and use the Key Plate on the door to enter. Take the left-side staircase and step on the nearby button to lower the barrier that the previous right-side staircase takes you to.
Having passed the barrier, make your way southwest, then north, past another staircase, to a chest containing a Crest Graph; backtrack and take the stairs this time. Step on the switch in the room to see another barrier removed from your path on the other side of the screen. Return up the stairs and to the previous set of stairs you entered the area from, then proceed to take the stairs on the right-side of the room. This will take you beyond the barrier and into another area.
In the next set of rooms, you just need to either walk quickly or dash over the platforms that will begin to fall as soon as you step on them.
The second such room you must make a stop in the center to procure the three chests containing a Bullet Clip, Round Shield accessory, and Prism Laser ARM for Rudy (He must open the chest). If Rudy is currently using the Buckler accessory, go ahead and switch it out for the much better Round Shield. His new ARM is excellent for random battles, being able to target groups of enemies in one shot, while leaving the Hand Cannon for bosses. Up the next set of stairs, you need to walk south, then west, onto the platform and step on the switch. Then, walk north, east, and south to the next platform and switch. Finally, west and then north to the next stairwell.
Climb up a couple of basic floors, one containing a save point, to enter a room with three staircases and a plaque on the wall. Take the eastern stairs up, then the western down, then the eastern up, again, and finally the new staircase to the north.
Before the next flight of stairs you'll find three chests each containing Goal Doll accessories. When equipped, it will auto-revive a character once, then disappear. You will eventually be able to purchase these, so use them as you see fit. From there, climb several more sets of stairs to make it out into the rain and summit of the tower.
I guess "Cage Tower" wasn't enough of a giveaway not to stand between three suspicious pillars, but anyway Alhazad, the Quarter Knight, has you trapped. While he's got you confined, he'll leave for Saint Centaur to destroy the Guardian statue, but leave behind a boss for you.
Start by using a Lucky Card, then have Cecilia cast both Armor and Slow Down. The Night Gaunt has ridiculous evasion, but Slow Down may help you land some of your counterattacks. Shield Cecilia and have her cast Break until she gains a lvl 2 Force, then unleashed the Summit Rune, if she has it, for massive damage. Rudy with the Hand Cannon and Jack using Meteor Dive like usual for their offense. Your only issue with this battle will come from the boss' Death Wing attack, that while not particularly damaging, has a chance to inflict instant death. If this gets Cecilia, you'll have to use one of your precious Revive Fruits. Manage to avoid Death Wing's effect, and you shouldn't have much trouble bringing down the boss. If it ends up presenting too much of a problem, consider equipping Cecilia with a Goat Doll so that she can be prepared to cast Revive, if necessary.
Thankfully, Jane Maxwell and her butler, McDullen (Known as Magdalen in Alter Code: F), arrive. Having hoped to hunt the Night Gaunt you just defeated, Jane will demand payment for releasing you. You have no choice but to hand over the 2000 Gella, so bite the bullet this time. When they leave, you are free to cast Escape and return to Saint Centour.
The unthinkable has happened in Saint Centour...The Guardian statue has been destroyed and all the townspeople have been killed. Monsters are also prowling around, but they're the same ones you have encountered before. The good news is you can claim all of that treasure you previously couldn't. Head back to the pub, which is in the southeast of town, and you can pick up three chests with two Potion Berries and a Secret Sign.
North from the pub, climb the stairs and behind the trees you can acquire a Lucky Card.
Walk directly north from the Lucky Card, in the alley beside the item shop, to find the treasure chest a dog was aggressively guarding before. Inside is his precious Bone. This one-of-a-kind item seems to serve no purpose, but it is, in fact, extremely useful. Using Cecilia's Mystic Force, it casts the Lucky Shot spell, which you cannot obtain until farther into the game. This spell, while does very little damage, if kills an enemy, it guarantees they drop their item. For best success, combine this with the Analyze spell to keep track of an enemy's HP.
Head westward from there, climb the stairs, and enter the storehouse to the north a man was guarding previously. Inside is your first Duplicator, which will be required to continue on with the story. This key will open the magically locked doors like the one you saw in Adlehyde Castle.
South from there was a house where a cat was laying in front of a set of stairs. Descend them now and pick up the Bullet Clip in the basement, then return to the inn at the center of town.
In the alley to the left of the inn, you can push some drums out of the way to find Ambrosia in the chest. Ambrosia is the best recovery item in the game and restores the entire party's HP and status; but they are rare, so use them sparingly. You, unfortunately, cannot access the barrel beside the treasure chest, no matter what you try.
Continue up the stairs and to the left to find the desecrated Guardian statue. The second piece of Mother's heart has been unsealed, leaving only one more in Port Timney. You'll receive the Saint Rune, which like the Summit Rune, is basically an upgraded original rune, except the Saint Rune deals holy elemental damage; which will be your only way to deal this type for quite a while. I recommend switching it out with Jack's Fire Rune. You may consider giving the Fire Rune to Rudy to help in random battles, but I am going to stick with the Wind Rune. In the south of town, where you got the Key Plate, you can now read the man's diary that explains a little of what happened here while you were at the Cage Tower. Also, the little blind girl, in the southwestern house, has survived. This will be crucial for a side-quest later on.
